During this Christmas season, Liceo Volterra has the honor of hosting a series of theatrical performances organized by the City of Ciampino in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Rome

December 19th at 7pm

Iphigenia in Aulis

This show is an interpretation of an episode of the Iliad in which Iphigenia, the daughter of Agamemnon, is the protagonist, chosen as a virgin to be sacrificed to the gods in order to propitiate the victory of the Greeks in the war against Troy. We will be able to observe the portrait of Agamemnon, the great Greek strategist, a man consumed by his own dream, and Achilles, a “hero lacking momentum” blinded by an earthly love.

December 22nd at 6pm

Agamemnon

After the fall of Troy, the palace of Argos anxiously awaits Agamemnon. The show narrates his exploits and the family tragedy that takes place on his return home ..

 

December 27th at 6pm

Circe: The Origins

The show tells of the origins of Circe, daughter of Helios and the Perseid nymph. Circe is depicted as an ambivalent character, undecided between belonging to the divine world or to the human one that she is learning to love.

December 28th at 6pm

A Magical Christmas

The show features a collection of fairy tales and tales told by two people as they prepare the beloved Christmas tree: theirs almost becomes a competition to find the most beautiful story to tell their grandchild. Beauty and the Beast‘ and ‘Pinocchio’ are just a few of them.
